The annual Cathedral City LGBT Days, the first pride in California, will begin Friday with an official Pride flag raising and lighting of City Hall.
“This event will again bring together numerous LGBTQ+ artists, performers, media, community leaders, Coachella Valley residents and visitors for an unforgettable weekend of live entertainment, community engagement and fun activities,” Cathedral City Communications and Events Manager Ryan Hunt said.
The flag will be raised at 5:55 p.m. Friday and will be immediately followed by a free film screening of “The Birdcage” at 68526 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, according to Hunt. Events will continue through Sunday and attendees must register to each event.
Saturday will get underway with a happy hour and headline comedy show by Los Angeles-based standup comic River Butcher at 8 p.m. in Agua Caliente Casino’s Agave Caliente Terraza, 68960 East Palm Canyon Drive, organizers said. The night will conclude with a drone show above the casino.
The last day will feature the annual Bed Race and Parade of Beds at 10 a.m. in front of City Hall, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, according to Hunt. It will conclude with a brunch, featuring DJs, champagne, drink specials, exclusive vendors and gourmet food trucks.
