The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose for the 15th consecutive day Saturday, increasing two-tenths of a cent to $4.813, its highest amount since Nov. 27.

The average price has risen 14.6 cents over the past 15 days, including 1 cent on Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.8 cents more than one week ago and 22 cents higher than one month ago, but 6.3 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.56 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price fell three-tenths of a cent to $3.397, ending a streak of 12 consecutive increases. It is 5.9 cents more than one week ago and 23.1 cents higher than one month ago, but 7 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.619 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

“Spring is nearly here, with longer days, better weather and more opportunities to hit the road,” said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. “And we are seeing this reflected in rising gasoline demand. But remember, we see this trend every year.”
