An autopsy was pending Wednesday on a 22-year-old woman who was killed in Thermal when she apparently lost control of her car and it rolled into a tree.
Perla Reyes Diaz of Thermal was fatally injured shortly before noon Tuesday on Harrison Street, just south of 68th Avenue, on the south end of the desert community, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said that Diaz was at the wheel of a Toyota Corolla northbound on Harrison when the sedan veered off the roadway and overturned, rolling several times before impacting a tree.
No other vehicles were involved.
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location 15 minutes later and pronounced Diaz dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
