The 30-day streak of increases that boosted the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County to its highest amount since Oct. 26 ended Thursday when it dropped two-tenths of a cent to $5.317.
The average price rose 48.9 cents during the streak, including a half-cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 4.7 cents more than one week ago, 48.7 cents higher than one month ago, and 45.2 cents greater than one year ago.
The average price has dropped $1.056 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the 14th time in 16 days, increasing 1.4 cents to $3.674. It has increased 13.9 cents over the past 16 days, including 1.6 cents Wednesday. The national average price rose 10 consecutive days, dropped one-tenth of a cent Saturday and Sunday and resumed increasing Monday.
The national average price is 4.4 cents more than one week ago and 20.7 cents higher than one month ago but two-tenths of a cent less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.342 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
