The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped for the third day in a row, going down nine-tenths of a cent Thursday to $5.271.
It dropped a half-cent Wednesday and a half-cent Tuesday.
The average price is 1.7 cents less than one week ago, but 21.2 cents more than one month ago and 45.5 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.102 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose eight-tenths of a cent to $3.671, a day after it rose six-tenths of a cent. It rose two-tenths of a cent Monday and dropped two-tenths of a cent Sunday.
The national average price is 1.3 cents more than one week ago, 13.6 cents more than one month ago and 7.5 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.345 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
