The South Coast Air Quality Management District issued a windblown dust advisory Sunday for the eastern areas of Riverside County.

The advisory was effective from 2 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Wednesday in the areas of Indio, Palm Springs, Mecca, Cathedral City and the San Gorgonio Pass due to air quality index reaching “unhealthy for sensitive groups” levels.

Gusts up to 30 mph were expected in the Coachella Valley on Sunday.

“Limit your exposure by remaining indoors with windows and doors closed or seeking alternate shelter,” the SCAQMD advised.

The current air quality by area is available at aqmd.gov/AQImap.
