The Coachella Valley Firebirds, the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, announced the signing of forward Cam Morrison for the upcoming 2024-25 season Thursday, according to a team statement.
Morrison has a combined three seasons’ worth of experience, representing the Rockford IceHogs and Charlotte Checkers in 124 games. His resume also includes appearances with the ECHL’s Florida Everblades and four collegiate seasons at the University of Notre Dame. He totaled 95 points (44 goals, 51 assists) at the NCAA level, helping the Fighting Irish win back-to-back Big Ten Championships.
The winger also played junior hockey for the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms.
At 6-foot-3, 209 lbs, the Ontario, Canada native was chosen by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft with the 40th overall selection.
