The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose four-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.447, after remaining unchanged for the previous two days.

The average price is 1.5 cents less than one week ago, 10.6 cents less than one month ago and 80.2 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.926 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

“Southern Californians planning Labor Day road trips will be paying less at the pump than last year,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.

The national average price decreased eight-tenths of a cent to $3.353. It is 6.1 cents less than one week ago, 16.8 cents less than one month ago and 47.5 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.663 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
