Jerry Seinfeld will perform a stand-up set at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Saturday.
The Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning comedian and actor is best known for his career in front of comedy microphones and the eponymous sitcom he co-created with Larry David. Rolling Stone named him among the Top 10 stand-up comedians of all time in a 2017 list.
The Brookyln-born comedian often deploys observational humor in stand-up sets, citing the likes of Jay Leno and George Carlin as role models. His focus on the absurdity of everyday scenarios bleeds into “Seinfeld” as well, with the show frequently cutting to his character performing on-stage about topics related to the episode.
Seinfeld has also released four comedy specials in four separate decades and created the show “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” which ran for 11 seasons.
He also has a notable movie career as a producer, writer and actor, fulfilling all three roles in comedies such as “Bee Movie” and ”Unfrosted,” the latter of which was released earlier this year on Netflix.
Seinfeld is playing the second of five consecutive in-state shows at 8 p.m. Saturday. He is set to perform for other California audiences in Temecula and Saratoga in the coming weeks. He is also scheduled to return for early November shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles with actor-comedian Jim Gaffigan, whom he met on “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.”
