The streak of decreases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County was extended Sunday to six days, but barely, dropping one-tenth of a cent to $4.419, its lowest amount since Jan. 29.

The average price has dropped four cents over the past six days, including six-tenths of a cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.7 cents less than one week ago, 4 cents lower than one month ago and $1.732 less than one year ago.

The average price has dropped $1.954 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $3.218, one day after a decrease of three-tenths of a cent ended a streak of four consecutive increases totaling 1.5 cents. It is 1 cent more than one week ago, but 14.3 cents less than one month ago and 61.4 cents lower than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.798 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
