The average price of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped three-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.441, decreasing for the fifth consecutive day.
The average price has dropped 3 cents over the past five days, including 1.2 cents Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The decreases follow a run of 11 increases in 12 days totaling 7.9 cents.
The average price is 1.8 cents less than one week ago, 3.3 cents lower than one month ago and $1.047 below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.932 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the fourth consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.177. It has dropped 2.7 cents over the past four days, including eight-tenths of a cent Saturday.
The national average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago, 4.5 cents lower than one month ago and 38.1 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.839 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
