The average price of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Thursday, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.418, a day after dropping seven-tenths of a cent.
It was the eighth time in nine days the price dropped.
The average price is 3.9 cents less than one week ago, 2.5 cents lower than one month ago and 98.8 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.955 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the eighth consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.15, a day after dropping eight-tenths of a cent. It has dropped 5.4 cents over the past eight days, including eight-tenths of a cent Tuesday.
The national average price is 4.6 cents lower than one week ago, 60 cents less than a month ago, and 39.5 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.866 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
