The average price of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Wednesday for the eighth time in nine days, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.401.
The average price has dropped 4.1 cents over the past nine days, including six-tenths of a cent Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price dropped five consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Sunday and resumed dropping Monday.
The average price is 2.5 cents less than one week ago, 1.4 cents lower than one month ago and 84.7 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.972 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $3.135, a day after rising four-tenths of a cent. It is 2 cents less than one week ago, 8.1 cents lower than one month ago and 35.9 cents below what it was one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.881 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
