Emmy-nominated trumpeter and vocalist Benny Benack III will team up with singer and actress Stella Katherine Cole to lead a performance of the jazz-inspired “Some Enchanted Evening” at the McCallum Theatre Wednesday.

The multi-disciplinary show, which promises a jazz jukebox journey of Broadway classics throughout the years, is currently on tour, making a stop in the Coachella Valley on Wednesday.

Benack, who previously appeared at the venue in a February performance of “Sing and Swing: Our American Songbook,” will return to Palm Desert for the Broadway homage. His intonation earned praise from the New York Times, which called him “a charismatic young trumpeter who maintains an earnest sideline as a singer.”

Cole, a rising vocalist with over 850,000 followers on TikTok, is no stranger to the Great American Songbook. She released a self-titled debut album in August and has cited inspirations from Judy Garland to Samara Joy.

The production also includes rising tap-dance performer Jayu Graybeal and a five-piece band, taking audiences “from Hammerstein to Hamilton.”

Following Wednesday’s performance at 7 p.m., “Some Enchanted Evening” will travel to Arizona before returning over the weekend for a pair of California shows in Glendora and Long Beach.
