An 86-year-old East Hemet man went missing Wednesday after leaving his home, prompting a region-wide effort by authorities seeking to find him.

Horace Marshall was last seen about 9:30 a.m. leaving his family’s residence in the area of Crest Drive and Yale Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency issued a “Silver Alert” after receiving the missing person notification from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Silver Alerts focus on finding missing seniors throughout the state.

Authorities were uncertain about where Marshall may have gone. He left no word with loved ones.

The missing man is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 200 pounds, with receding gray hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing an unknown color shirt and blue jeans, according to the CHP.

Marshall was believed to be driving a 1999 Ford Super Duty pickup, bearing California license plate 5-Y-0-1-7-3-5.

Anyone with information was asked to immediately contact their local law enforcement agency, or dial 911.
