A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Thursday in Palm Desert.
The person was struck at about 6:40 a.m. near the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and San Pablo Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
One unidentified person — presumably the pedestrian — was taken to a hospital with critical injuries, according to the department.
