The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County increased four-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.315.

The average price is a half-cent more than one week ago and 3.4 cents more than one month ago, but 17.3 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $2.058 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

“Oil Price Information Service reports that gasoline inventories in local refineries are higher, but refineries are preparing to enter their annual maintenance season when production capacity will be lower,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.

“OPIS also reported that Southern California refineries stated that the wildfires have so far posed no imminent threat to operations.”

The national average price increased three-tenths of a cent to $3.067. It is six-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 4.1 cents more than one month ago, but seven-tenths of a cent less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.949 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
