The African American Historical Society will host their 30th annual Martin Luther King Jr. walk-a-thon Monday in Riverside.
The walk will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday starting from the Stratton Community Center, at 2002 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., to the Riverside Public Library, at 3900 Mission Inn Ave., according to the Riverside African American Historical Society.
“Let’s support the ideals of uplifting our communities. The walk benefits the Riverside African American Historical Society programs,” according to a statement from Indivisible Riverside.
To participate for the event, register at www.RAAHSINC.com and donate the $40 registration fee, which will include T-shirt designed for the walk.
UC riverside students may be eligible to receive a free ticket for the event by emailing volunteer@ucr.edu.
The society said they encourage people to carry banners and flags as an opportunity to promote social justice and inspire positive change.
