A four-day streak of increases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County totaling 3 cents ended Sunday when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.388.

The average price is 2.8 cents more than one week ago and 9.6 cents higher than one month ago but 13.7 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.985 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price decreased for the ninth time in 10 days, dropping four-tenths of a cent to $3.098. It has fallen 3.7 cents over the past 10 days, including eight-tenths of a cent Saturday. The national average price dropped five consecutive days, was unchanged Wednesday and resumed decreasing Thursday.

The national average price is 2.5 cents less than one week ago and 5.6 cents lower than one year ago but 3.1 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.918 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
