Four of California’s top six golf courses are in Riverside County, according to a ranking released Monday.

The list was published by GolfPass, a membership program for recreational golfers founded by four-time major champion Rory McIlroy.

Six Riverside County venues were mentioned, including Temecula’s Journey at Pechanga (No. 2), Palm Desert’s Classic Club (No. 3), the Celebrity Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort (No. 5) and Palm Desert’s Shadow Ridge Golf Club (No. 6).

All four courses also made the nationwide top 50, with Journey at Pechanga checking in at No. 9.

“Every golfer dreams of teeing it up during the winter months and these are the best courses to do it,” GolfPass Managing Editor Jason Scott Deegan said.
