A five-day streak of decreases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County totaling 5.1 cents ended Sunday when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.609.
The average price decreased 1.6 cents Saturday, its largest one-day drop since an identical decrease on Sept. 24, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5 cents less than one week ago and 14.6 cents lower than one year ago but 22.1 cents more than one month ago.
The average price has dropped $1.764 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.098. It has dropped 6.7 cents over the past 10 days, including 1.1 cents Saturday.
The national average price is 4.7 cents less than one week ago and 24 cents lower than one year ago but unchanged from one month ago. It has dropped $1.918 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
Gas prices are expected to remain steady as routine seasonal maintenance wraps up, according to the AAA.
