The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped one-tenth of a cent Monday to $4.608, a day after it was unchanged.

The average price decreased 1.6 cents Saturday, its largest one-day drop since an identical decrease on Sept. 24, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.2 cents less than one week ago and 15.9 cents lower than one year ago but 21.7 cents more than one month ago.

The average price has dropped $1.765 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 11th consecutive day, decreasing one-tenth of a cent to $3.097, a day after dropping a half-cent. It has dropped 6.8 cents over the past 10 days, including 1.1 cents Saturday.

The national average price is 4.7 cents less than one week ago, one-tenth of a cent lower than a month ago and 24.9 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.919 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

Gas prices are expected to remain steady as routine seasonal maintenance wraps up, according to the AAA.
