The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Saturday for the 11th time in the last 12 days, falling 1.6 cents to $4.551.
The average price has decreased 10.9 cents over the past 12 days. It is 5.8 cents less than one week ago, 5.4 cents more than one month ago, and 26 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.822 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Even with the latest price declines, Southern California gas prices are up by more than 30 cents a gallon in most areas since the start of the year,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
The national average price dropped 1.1 cents to $3.095. It is eight-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 4.3 cents less than one month ago and 30.5 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.921 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
