The occupant of a Riverside house suffered minor injuries Friday while escaping flames in the structure.
The fire was reported at 3:15 a.m. at 2258 Fifth Street, according to the Riverside Fire Department.
First reports indicated the occupant of the house was still inside but arriving firefighters learned the occupant was outside the house, fire officials said. They rescued a dog from inside the house.
Firefighters put out the flames and treated the occupant for minor injuries before the victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital, officials said.
