A 36-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly threatening to use explosives with the intent to kill people at the Palm Springs Chabad, authorities said Friday.

Officers from the Palm Springs Police Department launched an investigation regarding a report of a person making criminal threats directed at the Palm Springs Chabad, at 250 E. Palm Canyon Drive, on April 3, the department announced.

A search warrant and an arrest warrant were served at the suspect’s residence in the city of Desert Hot Springs Wednesday, where she was arrested without incident, according to the department.

Gohar Kagramanyan was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of criminal threats and of a hate crime.

Due to the nature and severity of the threats, detectives obtained a bail enhancement of $500,000, police said.

“‘The Palm Springs Police Department takes all threats of violence and hate-motivated crimes extremely seriously. We remain committed to protecting the safety and security of all members of our community,” a department statement said.
