The Coachella Valley Firebirds hockey team will face off against the Calgary Wranglers in the first round of the 2025 Calder Cup playoffs Tuesday at Acrisure Arena.
The Firebirds, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Seattle Kraken, defeated the Wranglers in the last two years of the Calder Cup playoffs, and Tuesday’s game will be the ninth time the teams have squared off this year, with the Firebirds winning six of those games.
The Firebirds finished the season in fourth place in the AHL Pacific Division, while Calgary finished fifth.
Tuesday’s game will be at 7 p.m. at the arena, 75702 Varner Road.
Game two is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, and game three, if necessary, will be played Sunday.
