A woman was in custody Wednesday on suspicion of stealing an ambulance in Coachella, authorities said.
Deputies responded around 10:18 p.m. Monday to a report of a stolen ambulance in the 49600 block of Cesar Chavez Street, according to Lt. Deirdre Vickers of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
A witness later reported seeing a woman inside an ambulance in the parking lot of the 72000 block of Varner Road in Thousand Palms shortly before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Vickers said.
The woman was taken into custody, and her identity was not released.
No further details were immediately available.
