The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose Sunday for the fourth consecutive day, increasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.654.

The average price has increased 7 cents over the past four days, including 1.9 cents Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.3 cents more than one week ago, but 11.8 cents less than one month ago and 51.7 cents lower than one year ago

The average price has dropped $1.719 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the ninth time in 10 days, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.135. It has dropped 5.1 cents over the past 10 days, including six-tenths of a cent Saturday. The national average price decreased three consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.

The streak of dropping prices follows three consecutive increases totaling 3.7 cents.

The national average price is 3 cents less than one week ago, 7.5 cents lower than one month ago and 49 cents below what is was one year ago. It has dropped $1.881 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
