Four people were stuck in a hotel elevator Saturday after a commercial vehicle struck an above-ground electrical vault and cut power in Palm Desert.
The crash was reported at 6:17 p.m. Saturday in the 74000 block of Highway 111, at Portola Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The crash resulted in a power outage that stopped the hotel elevator. Firefighters had to free the people stuck inside, fire officials said.
Neither the elevator occupants nor the vehicle driver were injured.
