The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose one-tenth of a cent Tuesday to $4.653, a day after dropping three-tenths of a cent.
The average price has dropped 4.5 cents over the past 11 days, including three-tenths of a cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The run of dropping prices follows a nine-day streak of increases totaling 11.4 cents.
The average price is 2.3 cents less the one week ago, seven-tenths of cent less than one month ago and 33.3 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.72 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped a half-cent to $3.174, a day after dropping two-tenths of a cent. It has fallen four consecutive days, decreasing 2.2 cents, including six-tenths of a cent Sunday. The national average price is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 2.5 cents more than one month ago and 41.7 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.842 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
Supply and demand are playing a role in the stable pump prices as crude oil supply is currently surpassing demand, according to the AAA.
