The Palm Springs International ShortFest announced its lineup of forum programs and participants Friday.
The 31st annual forum will gather industry experts and filmmakers to discuss numerous topics in the film industry from June 27-29 at the Renaissance Hotel, 888 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way.
The public forum will include the following on June 27:
— “Short to Feature” from 10 to 11 a.m.;
— “Pitch Like a Pro” from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.;
— “Going Viral: Lessons from the Creator Economy” from 1 to 2 p.m.;
— “Breaking Into Television” from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., and
— “Ask Me Anything: Festivals” from 4 to 5 p.m.
On June 28-29, the list of programs presented will be exclusively for filmmakers only, organizers said.
Juried ShortFest awards, including five Academy Award-qualifying awards and cash prizes worth $25,000, will be announced on June 29.
The ShortFest jury members will include Caroline Lindy, director of “Your Monster”; Carolina Groppa, producer of “Honk For Jesus”; Cooper Raiff, director of “Cha Cha Real Smooth”; and Peter Debruge, chief film critic at Variety.
Categories include the best of festival award, best documentary short, best live-action short over 15 minutes and best international short, among others.
The short film festival will be held at the Festival Theatres, 789 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, from June 24-30.
