A brush fire that broke out Thursday alongside Interstate 15 just north of Lake Elsinore, snarling traffic, scorched roughly a quarter acre before it was stopped.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 11:32 a.m. adjacent to southbound I-15 at Indian Truck Trail, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that several engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through medium brush on an embankment.
Southbound traffic slowed to a crawl as firefighters deployed on the shoulder of the corridor, but there were no lane closures.
The blaze was fully contained by 12:10 p.m.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
