A vegetation fire north of Thermal that scorched just over 52 acres in heavy fuels and prompted evacuation orders was 100% contained Sunday.
The Shady Fire was reported shortly before 3 p.m. Friday at Shady Lane and Avenue 54 in an unincorporated area bordering Coachella, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
There was no mention of evacuation warnings or orders in the update at 7 p.m Sunday.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire wasn’t known.
