A Silver Alert that was in effect in Riverside and Los Angeles counties Thursday for a 98-year-old man last seen in Banning has been deactivated after the man was found .
Eugene Clowes was last seen at approximately 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sun Lakes Boulevard and Silver Lake Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert Wednesday on behalf of the Banning Police Department.
According to the CHP, Clowes was found at 3:57 a.m. Thursday.
The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals.
