More than 9,000 Southern California Edison customers in Indian Wells were without power Thursday while facing extreme heat in the Coachella Valley.
According to the SCE website, the outage was reported near Camino Dorado south of Highway 111 shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday involving 9,717 customers.
The cause of the shortage was not immediately available, and was expected to be restored before 3 p.m. Thursday, according to the site.
