The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose two-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.309, one day after dropping declined two-tenths of a cent.

The average price is six-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 6.6 cents lower than one month ago and 16.9 cents below what is was one year ago, according to figures from the American Automobile Association and the Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped $2.064 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The streak of decreasing national average prices was extended to a fifth day, but barely, dropping one-tenth of a cent to $3.138. It has dropped 3.2 cents over the past five days, including six-tenths of a cent Sunday.

The streak of dropping prices follows a run of seven increases in eight days totaling 3.4 cents .

The national average price is 1.4 cents less than one week ago, 2.9 cents lower than one month ago and 30.7 cents below what is was one year ago. It has dropped $1.878 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
