The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose Tuesday for the 12th time in 13 days, increasing two-tenths of a cent to $4.478, its highest amount since June 11.

The average price has increased 16 cents over the past 13 days, including a half-cent Monday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. The average price rose nine consecutive days, dropped one-tenth of a cent Saturday, then resumed increasing Sunday.

The average price is 4.6 cents more than one week ago and 16.6 cents higher than one month ago but unchanged from one year ago. It has dropped $1.895 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped four-tenths of a cent to $3.186, one day after rising two-tenths of a cent following three consecutive decreases totaling 2.2 cents. It is unchanged from one week ago, 3.4 cents more than one month ago and 14.5 cents less than one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.83 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
