The run of 13 increases in 14 days totaling 16.5 cents that boosted the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County to its highest amount since June 11 ended Thursday with a decrease of one-tenth of a cent to $4.482.
The average price rose nine consecutive days, dropped one-tenth of a cent Saturday, then resumed increasing Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 2 cents more than one week ago and 16.7 cents higher than one month ago but 1.3 cents less than one year ago.
The average price has dropped $1.891 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose 1.1 cents to $3.201, one day after increasing four-tenths of a cent. It is nine-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 11.5 cents lower than one year ago but 4.9 cents more than month ago.
The national average has dropped $1.815 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
