A planning meeting will be held next month in La Quinta to discuss the creation of Coachella Valley Veteran Coalition, an organization designed to strengthened veterans rights under one group.
La Quinta Councilman Steve Sanchez, who served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps, spearheaded the initiative.
The meeting will focus on outlining the coalition’s vision and structure.
The initial meeting will be held at either La Quinta City Hall conference room, 78495 Calle Tampico, or at Salvation Army, at 30400 Landau Boulevard, in Cathedral City.
“The mission of CVVC is to unite all veteran groups under one unified voice — leveraging our collective strength to better advocate for and serve our veterans,” Sanchez said in a statement. “The coalition will also act as a central hub, connecting veterans, their families and the community to the resources offered by our member organizations.”
The meeting will be open to the public, and veterans in the Coachella Valley were encouraged to attend.
The date of the first meeting will be set based on responses submitted through the following link: doodle.com/group-poll/participate/aKEQZwrd.
