Coachella Thursday will hold its fourth workshop at the library to share layouts and designs for a rail station project that will provide travel through multiple Southern California counties.
The free, all-ages workshop will be held from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Thursday at 1500 Sixth Street.
The Coachella Valley Rail Project was described as a daily passenger service traveling between downtown Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside and the Coachella Valley.
City officials have identified the downtown Pueblo Viejo area as a potential location. Factors that went into choosing a location included rail engineering feasibility, land-use compatibility, effects on the environment, costs and ridership potential.
Community members are encouraged to provide feedback at the event.
The first 50 attendees will be entered into a raffle for a $100 grocery store gift card. Food, refreshments and Spanish interpretation will be available.
The study area map for the rail can be found at www.coachella.org/departments/coachella-passenger-rail-station-feasibility-study.
