The streak of decreases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County was extended Sunday to six days but barely, with a drop of two-tenths of a cent to $4.697.
The average price has dropped 7.1 cents over the past six days, including eight-tenths of a cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 6.9 cents less than one week ago but 10.4 cents more than one month ago and 37.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.676 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped four-tenths of a cent for the second consecutive day to $3.072. It is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 1.5 cents higher than one month ago but six-tenths of a cent less than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.944 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
