The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Thursday for the 16th time in 17 days, decreasing 1.4 cents to $4.577.
The average price has dropped 19.1 cents over the past 17 days, including 2.1 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent Nov. 17 and resumed decreasing Nov. 18.
The average price is 8.8 cents less than one week ago, but 5.1 cents more than one month ago and 24.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.796 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the seventh consecutive day, decreasing 1.6 cents to $3.026. It has dropped 7.4 cents over the past seven days, including 1.3 cents Wednesday.
The streak of dropping national prices follows a four-day streak of increases totaling 2.8 cents.
The national average price is 2.6 cents less than one month ago and 4.7 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.99 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
