The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County resumed dropping Tuesday, decreasing 2.7 cents to $4.397, one day after a run of 26 decreases in 27 days totaling 34.5 cents ended with an increase of one-tenth of a cent.
The average price is 13.5 cents less than one week ago and 36.9 cents lower than one month ago, but 13.3 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has dropped $1.976 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 18th time in 19 days on Tuesday, falling seven-tenths of a cent to $2.945. It has dropped 15.5 cents over the past 19 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Monday.
The national average price dropped 12 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Wednesday, then resumed decreasing Thursday. It is 5.3 cents less than one week ago, 12.5 cents lower than one month ago and 7.3 cents below what it was one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $2.071 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
