Palm Springs City Councilwoman Naomi Soto will be sworn in as the city’s new mayor Wednesday.
The City Council is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way.
Soto, a health-care executive, was elected in November 2024 to represent District 4. She will serve for one term in the rotating position, with Councilman David Ready serving as mayor pro tem, officials said.
Mayor Ron deHarte will deliver his final remarks as mayor and will continue to serve as council member for District 3.
In addition to the swearing-in ceremony, the council’s agenda also includes a resolution on a report for a proposed warehouse development on Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians Tribal Trust Land, a general fund budget update, the purchase and installation of playground equipment at Desert Highland Park and golf rates for Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort.
Residents unable to attend in person may view the meeting online on the city’s YouTube channel, at palmspringsca.gov, or at the city’s community television channel 17.
