The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped to its lowest amount since May 28, 2021, Sunday, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.124.

The average price has dropped seven consecutive days and 10 of the past 11, decreasing 5 cents, including one-tenth of a cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped three consecutive days, rose 1.8 cents last Sunday and resumed decreasing Monday.

The average price is 4.3 cents less than one week ago, 22.8 cents lower than one month ago and 18.7 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.249 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the third consecutive day, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $2.795. It has dropped 2.4 cents over the past three days, including eight-tenths of a cent Saturday.

The national average price is 1.9 cents less than one week ago, 14.5 cents lower than one month ago and 26.9 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.221 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022, and is at its lowest amount in almost five years.
