A person was injured and had to be freed their vehicle after it struck a tree near freeway on-ramp in Banning Monday evening.
Firefighters responded at approximately 7:20 p.m. Monday to the westbound Interstate 10 on-ramp east of Highland Springs Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Fire officials said the first-arriving engine company, Engine 20, reported a single-vehicle collision in which a vehicle struck a tree, causing moderate damage.
One occupant had to be freed after being trapped inside the vehicle, fire officials confirmed.
It remains unclear if the individual was the sole occupant and was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, with the extent of their injuries unknown.
