Riverside City Manager Mike Futrell has withdrawn from consideration to become Pasadena’s next city manager, city officials said Saturday.
Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo and the City Council said Futrell informed the city Saturday that he will remain in his current position in Riverside and end discussions with Pasadena, according to Pasadena Now.
Futrell had been scheduled to assume the Pasadena city manager post on May 13, the publication said.
Interim City Manager Matthew Hawkesworth will remain in the role while the City Council determines next steps in the hiring process.
