The city of Palm Springs urged community members Tuesday to complete an online survey to provide feedback regarding the renovation and expansion of the city’s Convention Center.

The goal of the Convention Center Modernization and Connectivity Project is to “keep the Convention Center competitive for national events while also creating a more welcoming experience for residence and visitors,” according to the city.

The facility was originally built in 1984 and expanded in 2005, but it requires modern upgrades to meet current industry standards, officials said.

A roughly $135 million investment would update technology and guest amenities, expand flexible indoor-outdoor spaces and upgrade connections to downtown and nearby hotels among other improvements, according to the city.

The plans to conduct renovation projects from November through April 2028, followed by expansion from April 2028 through March 2029.

The survey’s link can be found on the city’s Facebook page.
