The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose 1.9 cents to $5.254 Wednesday, after dropping three of the past four days.
The average price dropped 1.5 cents over the past four days, including 1.2 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It decreased one-tenth of a cent Saturday and nine-tenths of a cent Sunday but rose seven-tenths of a cent Monday.
The run of decreases followed back-to-back increases totaling 5.1 cents.
The average price is 5.5 cents more than one week ago, 32.9 cents less than one month ago and 88.9 cents higher than one year ago. It has increased 70.3 cents since the start of the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran on Feb. 28, which sent oil prices higher and drastically accelerated increases at the gas pump.
The four-day streak of decreases to the national average price totaling 2.5 cents ended with an increase of 3.1 cents to $3.89, 9.4 cents more than one week ago, 17.5 cents less than one month ago and 73.9 cents higher than one year ago. It has increased 90.8 cents since the attack on Iran.
