At least one person died in a freeway interchange in Riverside Saturday, but the cause of death was still unknown.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to the northbound lanes of the Moreno Valley (215) Freeway near the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway interchange around 2:50 p.m. Saturday.
According to the CHP incident page, the incident type was originally listed as “jumper” and later changed to “fatality.”
Officers were checking a vehicle, described as a white pick-up truck on the left hand side, but no occupants were found inside it.
A CHP dispatcher stated the person’s cause of death could not immediately be determined, but it was under investigation.
